Morris College

Morris College was established in 1908. From the beginning, the school was a center for training ministers and teachers. In 1915, the college conferred bachelor's degrees on its first graduates.

Morris College is one of the few senior colleges built and operated solely by African Americans. A four-year, coeducational, liberal arts institution, Morris offers degrees in 19 areas. The Morris campus is in Sumter, S.C. More than 900 men and women are enrolled.

The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's degrees.
