Nearly one third of a person’s life is spent at leisure. In modern society, recreational activities are just as necessary to a healthy, balanced life as sleeping or eating. The PRTM profession is all about being active and involved; we treat your learning the same way.

Youth Development Leadership Program

The online program is moving forward to address the need for providing strong, effective leaders equipped to optimize the skills of youth and create a culture where youth thrive and are nurtured to become productive citizens of healthy communities in our society.

Clemson University's Youth Learning Institute

The Institute is a vital component of Clemson’s youth outreach effort and helps fulfill the University’s mission of public service by using the research and knowledge of University faculty and staff to develop programs that especially reach youth.

Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life

...helps to generate, share and apply the research foundation for youth, family, and community development. Work at IFNL starts from the premises that strong communities support strong families and vice versa, and that both are necessary for healthy development of children and youth.

The School for Community And Life Enrichment (SCALE) is an interdisciplinary learning organization that prepares students and professionals as leaders in collaborative practice and the application of scholarship in the optimization of communities and the enhancement of the quality of life. The School brings together academic and degree-granting programs focused on community and youth development, parks, recreation, and tourism, with Clemson Extension and on-campus organizations with the same missions. The School utilizes the campus of Clemson University as a community laboratory where students are engaged with professionals who manage university facilities and programs, thus allowing students to “turn the university machine.” Students and professionals are prepared to work collaboratively with public, private and nonprofit organizations to advance the social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being of citizens and communities in South Carolina and around the world.
