| Name | Gary Forrester | | Situation | New laws in South Carolina require anyone applying pesticides for hire acquire and maintain a Commercial Pesticide Applicators license. The process for obtaining this license requires testing for many landcapers not well versed in pesticide application. | | Response | In response to the demand for a license and the testing process, training was needed to assist landscapers in passing and obtaining the required documentation to legally perform their job. Category 3 training curriculum was developed and presented to 16 people intending to obtain their commercial pesticide applicators license. | | Impact | All of the participants (100%) attending the training indicated that they increased their knowledge of pesticide application and its effect on the environment. |
