Student helping two children
Jennifer introduced a way for the children to make bird feeders naturally. Here

she shows the students how to put the peanut butter on the pine cone. Many of

the students ate the peanut butter rather than putting it on the cone for the birds.

"There is always one moment in childhood when the
door opens and lets the future in."
~Deepak Chopra~

After the students put all the peanut butter on the pine

cone, it was time for the bird seed. The children were very

surprised to see what they had made when Jennifer pulled

the pine cone out of the bag.

After the children completed their pine cone birdfeeder, they were allowed to

take them home. The students also made bird feeders for the school.

Newspapers were placed across the tables so that there

would not be a big huge mess. It was funny to see that the

children looked like they were covered in more peanut butter

than the pine cones were.

"I rejoice when I see anyone, especially children, inquiring about flowers, and wanting gardens of their own, and carefully working in them.
A garden is a grand teacher.
It teaches patience and careful watchfulness."
~Gertrude Jekyll~
