Clemson Elementary School, Carolina Fence

Clemson Elementary School Carolina Fence Garden was completed in spring
of 2003. The school is located in Pickens School District.
| The Carolina Fence Garden was designed to transform a barren 22' x
20' square of land from a grass monoculture into a wildlife friendly garden
for school children to enjoy. |

| Dr. David Bradshaw planting Indiangrass, the South Carolina state grass
at the base of a post supporting a Carolina Wren house. Yellow jessamine,
our state flower, will grow up the black locust post providing spring interest
in the garden. |

A rustic arbor will provide shade over a future bench while providing
support for native vines, such as red flowering trumpet honeysuckle. The
arbor was designed and installed by Justin Mathis and Ben Simpson. |
