Sustainability: Our Environment

When first approached with the question, "How can we help the environment?" and "What is Sustainability?" I was completely clueless. I knew how to help the environment, but I did not know what sustainability was. Honestly, I am still learning about sustainability. A definition of sustainability that I came up with on my own was this: using the resources that we have now more efficiently and taking action to save tomorrow. Tomorrow is referring to the near and far future. Then I learned of a project that I was to be involved in answering these questions. I immediately began to think of ways that I could help the environment got into action.
The actions that I chose are very simple for people of all ages to be involved with. Small children to even the elderly can be part of something so simple. Whether it is picking up trash or recycling, all people can do this. This project was actually a fun project. The actions that I chose were fun and each time I took part I was thrilled. I did not realize how much of an impact small things could have. I find that even when I am at my home, I recycle. Just think, if I get myself to do these things and then tell others about it how much more exciting would that be. This could be like a domino affect. It only takes one person to start this process of helping save the environment. Anybody can be the person to start this action.
If you know someone who is not interested in saving our environment, show him or her the fun that it can be. Tell them how much this can help in the future that are to come. The results will be amazing!
