TigerPool General Information

If you might be interested in short-term employment at the University, it's time to jump into the pool -- the TigerPool. You'll be asked to complete an application and tell us what time frames you're willing to work and in what areas of the University. Pay rates will be established by the University and paid by the department through the Human Resources Office.

Purpose: Establish a student labor pool for the benefit of both students and University departments.

Establishment: Develop a database for students and the times they are available to work. Provide information via e-mail distribution and semester billings.

TigerPool and Financial Aid: After a review it is determined that participation in such a program will not adversely affect Student Financial Aid. Students would be required to submit any income on their tax returns. This is no different from the current procedure.

Payment of Students: Departments would provide funding based on an invoice generated from our department corresponding with approved timesheets. Departments are charged according to the account number provided on the Departmental Application (work request) form. Students are input into CUBS as hourly student employees. Students will be paid according to the approved time sheets for any hours worked. Appointment processing is handled through Shared Services in the Administrative Services Building

Procedure: Students participating in the program will participate in an orientation session to ensure awareness of processes. Students should submit a resume of prior work experience, which will be especially beneficial should special work experience be requested. Consideration of student "no shows with no notification" will be addressed by elimination from the program. Pay rates are consistent with approved University Billing Rates for 2005-2006.

Departments will also have an opportunity to participate in a training session regarding the program. Departments will contact Human Resources to submit requests for assistance via the TigerPool Program and appropriate student(s) will be dispatched to work site with advance information of work to be performed as is provided by Human Resources.

Departments will receive information regarding student worker (name, prior work experience, rate of pay, etc.). Upon completion of work an approved time sheet IDO will be submitted to Human Resources for the payment process.

Follow-up of workers will be accomplished by surveys to departments. Students will also have an opportunity to provide feedback regarding departments in which they have worked.

Note: Please be certain that we have your correct email address and your inbox is kept current. We will not attempt to contact you by other methods. If your email is incorrect, you may miss an assignment.
