Allowable Credit for Prior State Service for Bonus Leave Increased
Effective July 1, 1996, the number of years for which certain employees
shall receive credit for prior state service for purposes of computing
bonus annual leave has increased.
All employees of the State as of June
2, 1972, shall receive full credit for employment prior to such date. Following
the date of June
2, 1972, all employees who are rehired following a break in service shall
be given full credit for prior permanent service for purposes of computing
bonus annual leave earnings.
Prior to July 1, 1996, employees who terminated and were rehired
following a break in service were only given credit for the period of service
prior to termination to a maximum of ten years. Employees may now receive
credit for all prior permanent state service for bonus annual leave purposes.
If you have more than ten years prior
permanent service, or prior permanent service that was not added to your
service
credit when
you were employed, please contact Human Resources at 656-4678. We will
verify the accuracy of the prior service and recalculate the service credit
for bonus annual leave purposes.
