International Services: Faculty & Staff

Clemson University is pleased to welcome an increasing number of international faculty, staff and students to the campus.  The internationalization of Clemson University means increased numbers of foreign nationals seeking employment. The Office of International Affairs (OIA) assists Clemson's research and education community by coordinating and submitting H-1B petitions and permanent residency petitions.

OIA's International Faculty and Staff Services provides critical support to Clemson University units in their hiring of, and subsequent maintenance of employment eligibility for, international faculty and staff who otherwise have no authorization to work at Clemson. Our focus is on preparing and filing federally-required paperwork with the US Department of Labor and with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of hiring faculty and maintaining required documentation in the event of audit by either of these federal agencies. In addition, we counsel and advise foreign national employees of Clemson regarding federal regulations and procedures related to their US immigration status. We also assist the international employee's family to obtain and maintain legal immigration status in the US.
