Crew - Katherine Cason - Creator, Production Coordinator
Katherine is a professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Clemson University
in South Carolina. She is the State EFNEP Coordinator and the State
Program Leader for Food Safety and Nutrition for Cooperative Extension.
Katherine's educational background includes a BS in Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University; an MS in
Nutrition from Texas Woman's University; and a PhD in Nutrition from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University. She is a registered dietitian. For the past 18 years, she has developed nutrition education programs for
children, youth and adult audiences. She recently developed a multimedia program Nutrition Mission, targeting 4th
through 6th grade students. She is a regular guest on the SC ETV show
"At Home Southern Style." She directs the
Nutrition Information and Resource Center, writes monthly
"Nourishing News" newsletters for teachers, and also co-authors educational fact sheets on nutrition topics
for the Home and Garden Information Center.
