Clemson’s 'Your Day' radio program focuses on energy issues this month

Published: January 11, 2010

CLEMSON — The focus is on energy this month on Clemson University’s “Your Day” radio program that airs statewide over ETV Radio network, Monday through Thursday.

The energy focus highlights a $98 million grant to the Clemson University Restoration Institute to conduct large-scale wind turbine research. The grant includes $45 million from the U.S. Department of Energy and $53 million in matching funds. Research will be based at the Restoration Institute site in North Charleston.

Following the November announcement of the grant, Clemson conducted two conferences on renewable energy, one on Nov. 30 and the other on Dec. 8. The January radio shows include interviews from those conferences, as well as with other energy experts.

All shows also can be heard live on the Your Day website: http://yourday.clemson.edu from noon to 1 p.m. Two of the energy shows include opportunities for listeners to call in with questions. Airing on Jan. 19 and 20, these shows also will feature live video streaming. Links to videos of speakers at the renewable energy conferences also will be posted on the website.
