Published: February 11, 2010

CLEMSON — Clemson University President James F. Barker, along with the presidents of Undergraduate Student Government, Graduate Student Government, Faculty Senate and Staff Senate, will give a State of the University address at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Tillman Hall auditorium.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public. After each president speaks, there will be an opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions of President Barker.

The address will give students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public the opportunity to learn about current issues affecting the university from different perspectives, said Graduate Student Government President Tammy Vaught.

“President Barker makes a very conscious effort to get input from all of us, and this event will showcase that,” Vaught said. “This is one of the things we do at Clemson that makes us special — we work together.”

Student a cappella group Viva Voce will open the event with a performance, and the address will be followed by a reception outside the Tillman auditorium.
