SPRING NIGHT HIKE
Join naturalist Lisa Wagner for an evening hike in the garden. Experience the sights, sounds and sensations of a spring evening and see the rise of the full moon if the weather permits. Please wear walking shoes and clothing appropriate for walking in the woods.
Fee: $7 per family up to 5; $5 for members and volunteers

DROUGHT-TOLERANT SUMMER CONTAINERS
Containers and window boxes don’t have to be ones that need watering twice a day. Mixing drought-tolerant annuals and perennials, herbs and hardy succulents in interesting combinations, using proper soil amendments and making the right container choices can create attractive plantings that survive in heat and dry weather. Bring lunch along if you like.
Fee: $8; $5 for members and volunteers

GARDEN YOGA
Renee Gahan leads Vinyasa Yoga classes, which are open to all skill levels. Students move through a series of postures focusing on the breath. Attention is paid to proper alignment, with guidance provided to develop poses. For more information, visit clemsonyoga.typepad.com.

The first annual “Annuals Sale” offers a fresh selection of warm-season annuals well suited for this area. Add color to your home garden and containers with these tough annuals tested in the summer heat and drought. Shrubs and perennials are available in the garden nursery. INNOVATIVE DESIGNS AND PLANT COMBINATIONS
Gardens reflect the passion of individual gardeners, shaped by cultural perspectives, available plants and garden styles. Lisa Wagner, education director, shares interesting plant combinations and innovative designs in gardens and natural landscapes from England to Ecuador.

RIBBON JEWELRY
Learn how to use ribbon as a luxurious design element. String two strands of chunky beads attaching them to decorative rings. Finish the necklace off with ribbon up both sides. MUSEUM DAY OPEN HOUSE – EARTH SKILLS
Each year the Bob Campbell Geology Museum celebrates International Museum Day with a free open house. This year's focus is on the local geological resources used by indigenous people and the techniques necessary to fashion them. A new exhibit showcases Native American artifacts and family-oriented activities have a Native American focus. Curators will be available to answer your questions and identify your treasures.

NATURE DISCOVERY WALK: LIVING FOSSILS OF THE GARDEN
The S.C. Botanical Garden is home to a vast collection of native and exotic plants. Join education curator Chris Cicimurri on an extended nature walk focused on the fossil history of plants in the garden. She’ll have fossilized specimens to compare with their live counterparts. Dress appropriately for the weather. The walk will be cancelled in the event of rain.

BACKGROUND
The South Carolina Botanical Garden is located on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of U.S. 76 and Perimeter Road. The garden encompasses 295 acres of display gardens, nature trails, woodlands and streams, and is open year-round from dawn to dusk, free of charge. The garden is partially supported by the state of South Carolina via Clemson University, but relies on private funding, memberships and proceeds from sales and educational events to continue operations.
