CLEMSON — Following a spirit-filled week of homecoming festivities, Clemson University’s 2010 Homecoming Court was announced on Friday, Oct.1, at the 54th annual Tigerama Homecoming pep rally. After being voted upon by the undergraduate student body, five women were chosen to represent Clemson at the homecoming game against Miami.
Kathryn Harris, a senior architecture major from Lexington was crowned Miss Homecoming. Although representing Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority during the homecoming festivities, Harris is involved in many other organizations on campus. She is a member of Calhoun Honors College, the Student Alumni Council, Order of the Omega and Golden Key International Honor Society.
"It was such an amazing experience to be part of a Clemson Homecoming tradition I have grown up attending since I was a child,” Harris said.
Caroline Trammel, an early childhood education major from Charlotte, represented Alpha Delta Pi sorority and was selected as first runner-up. Trammell is an active member of Blue Key Honor Society and the Student Alumni Council.
"It was such an honor to be on the Homecoming Court and is something that greatly added to my Clemson experience,” Trammell said.
Other winners of the night included Susan Irizarry, second runner-up, who represented Gamma Phi Beta sorority; Laurin Wilson, third runner-up, who represented Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity; and fourth runner-up Brittany Carson, who represented Delta Zeta sorority.
Irizarry is an active member of Alpha Lamda Delta Honor Society, Clemson University Guide Association, Calhoun Honors College and has participated in Creative Inquiry opportunities pertaining to her major in environmental and natural resource management. She is a senior from Palm City, Fla.
Wilson is a senior financial management major from Pacolet. She is involved in Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, the Wall Street South Investment Club, Clemson University Marketing Association and was on a committee sponsoring Clemson’s Dirt to Food Project.
Carson is a member of Delta Zeta sorority, the Clemson Philanthropy and Service Council and the Student Advisory Board. She also is in Undergraduate Student Senate and holds the title of Miss Clemson 2009. She is a senior communication studies major from Columbia.
