CLEMSON — For the third consecutive year, Clemson University has received national recognition for its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Minority Access Inc., a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting diversity and access to public and private institutions of higher education, recently awarded Clemson with a citation in recognition of its diversity achievements at the 11th National Role Models Conference in Las Vegas.

Leon Wiles, Clemson’s chief diversity officer, was recognized at the conference with a National Role Model Award for his leadership, dedication and success over many years of recruiting and enrolling minority students in colleges throughout the nation.

“I am very grateful to be included among a distinguished group of educators who are dedicated to helping to broaden the participation of talented students from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, medicine and other health professions,” said Wiles. “I am also proud to be a member of a higher education institution such as Clemson University, which is committed to creating an inclusive campus community and accessible educational opportunities.”
