Clemson’s Varun Grover named Fellow of Association for Information Systems

CLEMSON — Varun Grover, the William S. Lee Distinguished Professor in Information Systems in the College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University, has been named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems.

Grover is one of only 50 Fellows in the organization that represents thousands of information systems academics and researchers globally. The Association for Information Systems Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding research, teaching and service contributions to the information systems discipline.

“We congratulate Dr. Grover on this honor, the most recent of his many recognitions,” said Claude Lilly, dean of the College of Business and Behavioral Science. “Dr. Grover continues to impress the international academic community with his productivity and has become one of the university’s most accomplished researchers. He represents Clemson, our state and our nation well.”

Grover came to Clemson in 2002 from the University of South Carolina. He has published extensively in the information systems field, with more than 200 publications in refereed journals. Grover consistently ranks among the top five information systems researchers in the world based on the number of publications in the top six information systems journals. He recently was ranked as one of the most influential researchers in the world based on the citation impact of his work.

“Dr. Grover is a pre-eminent scholar of information systems who is ranked among the best in the world. We are very fortunate to have Varun at Clemson. He brings tremendous visibility and recognition to the department of management and Clemson University,” said department chairman Sri Sridharan.

The Association for Information Systems is the world's pre-eminent professional society for information systems academics with thousands of worldwide members. The award of Fellow was established in 1999 by the Council of the Association for Information Systems and the Executive Committee of the International Conference on Information Systems.
