Clemson University staff members receive awards from education advancement council

CLEMSON — Clemson University recently received several awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III at the CASE III conference in Tampa, Fla.

Clemson received seven awards at the banquet:

• Clemson public affairs staff members Cathy Sams, Dave Dryden, Liz Newall, Debbie Dunning, Patrick Wright and Craig Mahaffey received a Grand Award in the Institutional Publications category for their work on "2000-2010: The Inside Story of Clemson University's Transformation."
• In the CD-ROM, DVD, Flash Publications & Other Electronic Communications category, Dale Cochran, Dave Sharpe, Sallie Leigh and Michele Cauley were recognized with an Award of Excellence for their work on the Clemson Alumni Association Annual Report.
• Cathy Sams, Susan Schiff, Jack McKenzie, Dave Dryden, Jacob Barker, Craig Mahaffey and Patrick Wright were given an Award of Excellence in Social Media Integration for their efforts to use social media in Clemson's Will To Lead campaign.
• An Award of Excellence in Fundraising was given to Kathleen Nalley, Michelle Chin, Missy Ryan, Sandra Parker, Dale Cochran and Jeremiah Bates for their work on the Macaulay Mini-Campaign.
• Kathleen Nalley, Joshua Thomas and Jeremiah Bates won Awards of Excellence in Alumni Magazines III for their work on Clemson's magazine for the College of Business and Behavioral Science, "The Exchange."
• A Special Merit Award in Overall Alumni Relations Programs was given to College of Business and Behavioral Science Time and Talent Campaign, which was designed by Meredith McTigue, Missy Ryan, Kathleen Nalley and Patsy Greene.
• Daniel Austin, Jennifer Clark, Tina LeMay and Karen Riggins received a Special Merit Award in Improvement in Design for their work to redesign the student orientation booklet.

CASE is an organization for advancement professionals who work in alumni relations, marketing, communications and development. It was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in London and Singapore.

Membership in CASE has grown to more than 3,400 colleges, universities, primary and secondary independent schools, international schools and nonprofit organizations in 68 countries. CASE District III represents the Southeast, with members in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia and Mississippi.
