CLEMSON — Teresa McClernon, a graduating student in performing arts at Clemson University, has been selected to participate in the Stanislavsky Summer School at Harvard University.
The six-week program brings leading theater artists from the prestigious Moscow Art Theater School to Harvard’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training.
For six weeks McClernon will receive intensive training in the Stanislavsky system, a progression of techniques used to bring believable emotions to acting. The technique was created, refined and used by Constantin Stanislavski (1873-1938), a renowned Russian actor, director and theater administrator at the Moscow Art Theater.
Stage awareness, emotional memory and boldness on stage, stage improvisation, text analysis and partner and stage interaction are some of the areas McClernon will work on this summer.
A Greenville resident, she has performed in numerous Clemson Players productions, including Lee Blessing’s "Eleemosynary" and Melanie Marnich’s "These Shining Lives."
