CLEMSON — Four students from Pickens County have been elected to the Clemson University Undergraduate Student Senate for the 2011-2012 school year.

They are Kimberly Martin of Easley, a sophomore majoring in health science; Tyler Cox of Liberty, a sophomore majoring in general engineering; and Ben Winter and Mitchell Gravely of Pickens, both juniors majoring in mechanical engineering.

The Undergraduate Student Senate is made up of 64 students who represent all academic classes and the university's five colleges. Senators draft and vote on amendments, bills and resolutions that affect all areas of student life at Clemson. Senate committees focus on different areas of the Clemson experience, ranging from academic affairs to health and human services.

The Senate works closely with Clemson administrators, faculty, staff and students to accomplish its goals each year.
