CLEMSON, S.C. — Four Charlotte-area students have been elected to the Clemson University Undergraduate Student Senate.
Serving the student government for the 2011-2012 academic year will be Cameron Foster of Charlotte, a sophomore majoring in management; Laura Hicks of Charlotte, a sophomore majoring in communication studies; and Nick White of Matthews, a sophomore majoring in general engineering. Also elected was Andrew Casella of Charlotte, a junior majoring in chemical engineering, who will be chairman of the Senate’s university services committee.
The Undergraduate Student Senate is made up of 64 students who represent all academic areas and the university's five colleges. Senators draft and vote on amendments, bills and resolutions that impact all areas of student life at Clemson. Senate committees focus on different areas of the Clemson experience, ranging from academic affairs to health and human services.
The Senate works closely with Clemson administrators, faculty, staff and students to accomplish their goals each year.
