CLEMSON — Greg Pickett has been appointed associate dean of Clemson at the Falls and the Greenville initiative for the College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University.

Pickett has been interim associate dean since March 2010. His new title becomes effective July 1.

“Greg has done an excellent job in the interim position to elevate the awareness of the college’s Greenville initiatives at the Clemson at the Falls campus," said Claude Lilly, dean of the College of Business and Behavioral Science.

"Additionally, he has helped to create a synergy between the MBA program, the Spiro Institute, the Small Business Development Center and the Professional Advancement and Continuing Education program by coordinating events such as the First Friday seminars," Lilly said. "I am confident that he will continue to excel as he takes on this permanent role.”

Pickett was a professor and chairman of the department of marketing for 10 years. He was instrumental in developing a variety of innovative programs, which, in part, have led to departmental recognition by Clemson students three times as “best major on campus.”

Pickett helped developed a unique leadership program for its students and several challenging undergraduate research experiences funded by external sources that linked communities, nonprofit organizations and businesses to faculty and student talent. He also established the college’s first academic sports marketing program.
