Published: August 24, 2011

CLEMSON — Clemson University has selected Balfour to be the exclusive provider of the Clemson Ring through 2014.

Balfour was selected following a competitive bid process to determine who would produce the rings and partner with the Clemson Alumni Association. The company is based in Austin, Texas, and has been a leading provider of class rings for nearly 100 years.

“We look forward to collaborating with the team at Balfour to continue the rich history of the Clemson Ring while having the opportunity for our Alumni Association to have ownership and more protection of this important university symbol,” said Wil Brasington, senior director of alumni relations.

The Clemson Ring, which has an official design and is recognized around the world by Clemson alumni, will be made available exclusively by the Clemson Alumni Association. The association will manage the ring sales process as well as all promotion of the ring.

“The opportunity to handcraft each Clemson Ring is an honor and responsibility that we take very seriously,” said Don Percenti, senior sales officer for Balfour. “We look forward to every Tiger one day wearing their Clemson Ring with the same pride.”

Only graduates and currently enrolled students who have completed a minimum of 90 semester hours are eligible to buy a Clemson Ring. Rings can be purchased beginning Aug. 29 at the Clemson Alumni Center or by contacting Balfour representative Jason Cline at 803-798-5134.
