CLEMSON — Lynn West of Charleston has been named the Frank Kellers III Volunteer of the Year by the Clemson Alumni Association.

West, a member of Clemson Alumni Association board of directors, graduated from Clemson in 1984. She is a program coordinator at the Medical University of South Carolina. West was president of the Charleston County Clemson Club and chairwoman of the Clemson Women’s Alumni Council. She has been on the Alumni National Council and is a member of Clemson in the Lowcountry and the Charleston County Clemson Club. She also was named the Clemson Alumni Association Volunteer of the Year in 2004.

"Lynn’s commitment to Clemson is remarkable. Not only does she spend countless hours volunteering and leading alumni events and initiatives, but she also always finds time to encourage and inspire those around her," said Wil Brasington, senior director of alumni relations. "Because of these reasons and her unwavering love for Clemson, the staff felt it only fitting to recognize her with this honor."

This year the Clemson Alumni Association named the annual award for the late Frank Kellers III. Kellers, Class of 1957, died in June.

“Mr. Kellers worked tirelessly over the years to support Clemson as a whole and to advance the objectives of so many of its components that were near to his heart, including the Alumni Association and IPTAY,” Brasington said.

Presented annually since 1988, the volunteer of the year award is the highest recognition and greatest expression of appreciation extended to an individual by the Alumni Association staff for outstanding service and volunteerism.
