Learn how to create a backyard landscape

SUMTER — Learn how to create beautiful and functional landscapes during the 2012 Sumter Backyard Landscape Series hosted by Sumter Stormwater Solutions, Sumter County and the city of Sumter.

Classes will be held on four Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m., beginning March 8 at the Swan Lake Iris Gardens Visitor Center, 822 W. Liberty St. in Sumter.

Based on the Carolina Yards and Neighborhoods program, the series helps homeowners achieve desired landscapes while saving time and money, and protecting South Carolina’s natural resources.

Sumter Stormwater Solution is a regional collaboration of Clemson University’s Carolina Clear program with communities and educators from universities, state agencies and nonprofits.
