CLEMSON — The renowned German orchestra Nordwest Deutsche Philharmonic comes to Clemson's Brooks Center for the Performing Arts for a performance at 8 p.m. Friday, March 9.
An integral part of concert life in northwestern Germany, the musicians of Nordwest Deutsche Philharmonic have served as cultural ambassadors for the region across and outside of Europe for 60 years. American conductor Eugene Tzigane, who has taken over since the orchestra’s 2010-2011 season, is quickly becoming a highly sought-after young artist.
The Brooks program will include Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46; along with Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1, Op. 107; and Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68, by Brahms.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students and can be purchased online, in person or by phone. Visit www.clemson.edu/Brooks or call the Box Office at 864-656-7787 from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
