Clemson’s Race to the Rock to benefit Clemson libraries

CLEMSON — Take a run with Clemson University President James F. Barker and his wife, Marcia, in the 13^th annual Race to the Rock Saturday, March 31. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., with the race starting at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Clemson libraries.

This USA Track and Field-certified 5K run is an official Palmetto Grand Prix with the finish line by RMS Sports and official ChampionChip Timing System. The race winds through the Clemson campus from the Cooper Library all the way to Howard’s Rock at Memorial Stadium.

There will be cash prizes and medals for overall top male and female times, with separate prizes for winners in each age group: 12 and under, 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. There also will be a competition for teams of four to six runners. A prize will be given to the team with the best average time.

Registration can be done online at http://www.clemson.edu/president/race. Registration ends at 4:30 p.m. March 28. Fees are $15 for children 12 and under and $20 for all others. Late entry on the day of the event will be $20 for everyone. All participants receive T-shirts.
