Author Michelle Whitlock to speak at Clemson University

CLEMSON — Author Michelle L. Whitlock will speak at Clemson University to promote her book “How I Lost My Uterus and Found My Voice" and to share her personal experience with human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer. Sponsored by Redfern Health Promotion and the Student Health Advisory Committee, her talk will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in McKissick Theatre of the Hendrix Student Center.

In her memoir, Whitlock tells the story of her battle with cancer. Whitlock earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia Union College. She is a retail executive and an advocate for women’s cervical health and fertility options. She is on the board of Fertile Action and Concerts for a Cure and chairs the Tennessee Cancer Coalition's Women’s Cancer Committee. She has held positions with the National Cervical Cancer Coalition, Tamika and Friends Inc. and The Pearl of Wisdom Campaign.
