COWARD — Children can have a day of fun learning about water quality, water chemistry and aquatic insects during a free kids camp hosted by the Florence/Darlington Stormwater Consortium.
"Critters in the River: A River Ecology Workshop for Kids," is for fifth- to eighth-graders. The camp is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5 at Lynches River County Park.
The workshop is limited to 30 children who must currently be in grades 5 to 8. There is no charge to attend, but registration is required by April 20.

The camp is hosted with Carolina Clear and education partner Lynches River County Park.
Because of the support of Davis & Brown and the Water Environment Association of South Carolina, Pee Dee District, the camp is free. Lunch will be provided.

The Florence/Darlington Stormwater Consortium is a regional collaboration involving the Carolina Clear program in partnership with communities and educators from universities, state agencies and nonprofits.
Carolina Clear
Carolina Clear is a stormwater education and awareness program of the Clemson University Restoration Institute and the Center for Watershed Excellence. The program’s goal is to minimize polluted stormwater runoff by educating the general public, youth, builders, developers, homeowners and government officials about how they can keep water in the state’s streams, rivers and basins as clean as possible.
