CLEMSON — Clemson University’s Pershing Rifles Company C-4 returned from the General John Joseph Pershing Nation Drill Competition in Baltimore with awards in tow.

The group received first place in Squad Regulation, second place in Color Guard and second place in Platoon Exhibition. Company C-4 took second and third places in Individual Drill Regulation, with cadets Marjorie Lutz and Marcus Anderson taking the honors, respectively. Out of 51 companies from across the country, Clemson placed third overall.

“This makes us 10 for 10 on top three finishes for the past 10 years," said Jesse Mahn, company commander of C-4. "We are quite pleased to come home with these trophies and are proud to carry on the traditions of the Company.”

In addition to their participation in national competitions, Company C-4 participates in many university events and other local celebrations, acting as color guard for football, baseball and basketball games, as well as for Tigerama, Veterans Day and 21-gun salutes.
