CLEMSON — The Women’s Glee, Men’s Glee and Clemson University Singers take the stage beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Clemson’s Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.
Each choir will be featured on stage and present three contemporary works. The Women’s Glee will perform an American Shaker Hymn, the gentle piece “Loving Shepherd” by Bob Chilcott, and “Saboo” by Joan Szymko.
The Men's Glee will perform “Alleluia” by Reginald Unterseher; “Blagoslovi, dushe moya, Ghospoda,” also known as “Bless the Lord, O My Soul” by Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov; and “Jonah’s Song” by Peter Schickele.
The Clemson University Singers end the individual group portion of the evening with an American and a Russian folk song, as well as “Ave Maris Stella” by Trond Kverno.
The three groups will join together to sing Franz Josef Haydn’s "Missa in angustiis," which is better known as the "Lord Nelson Mass."
