Friday, June 1
FIRST FRIDAY GARDEN WALK
Meet with naturalist David Bradshaw for an unforgettable tour of the garden. Walks are offered the first Friday of every month, but no two outings are the same.
Fee: Free
Time: 7 a.m. (April through September)
Location: Meet in caboose parking lot

Wednesday, June 6
MAKING SCENTS OF INSECTS
Celebrate National Pollinator Week by taking a close-up look at bees, butterflies and more on a garden insect investigation. Discover the amazing adaptations of insects and the valuable roles they play in our lives. Paint your own pot and plant a flower to attract pollinators to your backyard.
Must register at least three days in advance.
Fee: $7 per participant ($6 members and volunteers)
Time: 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Location: Hanson Nature Learning Center

Saturday, June 9
HUNT CABIN OPEN HOUSE
Step back into the 19th century as you enter the historic Hunt Cabin. Join Garden educator Sue Watts and a variety of visiting craftsmen to learn more about life on the South Carolina frontier. Enjoy the coolness inside the cabin, listen to tall tales and folk tales, and experience some of the chores and entertainments of the past.
Fee: Donations to the Hunt Cabin Fund
Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Saturday, June 9
FAMILY PICNIC DAY
Enjoy Saturday afternoon picnicking in the Garden and spending time with your family. There will be games and entertainment and the Hunt Cabin will be open. Learn about and sign up for summer Garden programs.
Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Saturday, June 16
INDIGO: A PLANT TO DYE FOR
The graceful leaves of the indigo plant are the source of a highly prized rich blue dye that was a cultural keystone of South Carolinas’ 18th century economy. Join Karen Hall, Clemson Extension coordinator for the S.C. Master Naturalist and S.C. Master Gardener programs, and Andrea Feeser, Clemson associate professor of art and architectural history, for a daylong workshop exploring the history, culture and mysteries of the indigo vat and then design and dye your own indigo creation.
All materials provided.
Fee: $50 ($45 members and volunteers)
Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

FANNING GARDEN EXPLORATIONS CAMP
Join us for an exciting summer day-camping adventure for children ages 8-12. Garden Explorations brings science discovery to life. Learn why butterflies visit certain flowers and what lives in the garden's ponds and streams in inquiry-based activities that promote connections with the natural world. Garden Explorations encourages kids to take a closer look, ask questions and use their imaginations.
Fee: $100
Time: 9 a.m.-noon (drop off 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m.)

GENERAL INFORMATION
The South Carolina Botanical Garden is located on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. The Garden encompasses 295 acres of display gardens, nature trails, woodlands and streams, and is open year-round from dawn to dusk, free of charge. Discovery Center and Garden Gift Shop hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Garden is partially supported by the state of South Carolina via Clemson University, but relies on private funding, memberships and proceeds from educational events to support operations.
