Clemson Video Production Services wins national, international awards

CLEMSON — Two national organizations have recognized Clemson University Video Production Services with awards for excellence in video production.

The international Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals honored Clemson video producer/director Paul Ruszkowski with two awards for an 11-minute video introducing the Intelligent River remote-sensing technology that provides real-time data on water quality and flow rate. The video earned an Award of Distinction (the highest award) in the informational category and an Award of Excellence in the legal category.

The association also presented Ruszkowski with two awards for “The Spirit of Recycling at Clemson,” a one-minute video promoting recycling among Clemson students. The video earned an Award of Excellence in the low budget category and honorable mention in the new media/directing category.

In the national Telly Awards competition, Ruszkowski won two bronze awards for “The Spirit of Recycling at Clemson.” The video was recognized in the art direction and low-budget categories.

The recent awards follow earlier announcements of six awards presented to Clemson Video Production Services by other organizations. Here's the full list of 2012 awards.

• National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Southeast chapter): Patrick McMillan, Emmy for Outstanding Host, "Expeditions with Patrick McMillan" PBS nature series, “An Island Called California” episode; Emmy nomination for Outstanding Magazine Program  
• Association for Communication Excellence (national): Intelligent River video, Gold Award, Paul Ruszkowski; S.C. Agriculture video, Silver Award, Paul Ruszkowski
• Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (international): Intelligent River detail video, Award of Distinction in informational category and Award of Excellence in legal category, Paul Ruszkowski
• International Academy of Fine Arts (international): Carolina Clear “We all live downstream” billboard, Communicator Award of Distinction, Paul Ruszkowski
• Telly Awards (national): "Spirit of Recycling at Clemson," Bronze Award for low budget, Bronze Award for art direction, Paul Ruszkowski
• RecycleMania (national): "Spirit of Recycling at Clemson," Judges’ Award, Paul Ruszkowski
