S.C. Botanical Garden fall plant sale is Sept. 28–29

Published: September 6, 2012

CLEMSON — The fall plant sale will be Sept. 28–29 in the S.C. Botanical Garden at Clemson University.

A primary mission of the sale is to share hard-to-find varieties and native plants that perform well in the state environment and provide valuable habitat and food resources for wildlife, butterflies and bees. This year’s sale includes a choice selection of plants for home landscapes, including trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, ferns, ornamental grasses and hardy carnivorous bog plants. The full plant list will be posted on the Garden’s website a few days before the sale.

The Sept. 28 sale is open only to Garden members from 2:30 to 6 p.m. New members can join on site for a minimum annual donation of $45. The Sept. 29 sale is open to the public at no charge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sales are in the horticulture support area. The Garden’s horticulture staff will be on site with a dedicated group of Master Gardeners to answer your questions and help you choose the right plant for your landscape.

Sale proceeds provide operating funds for the Garden.
