Clemson professor named editor of Quality Management Journal

CLEMSON — Clemson University professor Lawrence Fredendall was named the editor of Quality Management Journal by The American Society for Quality.

Fredendall is tenured professor operations management in the department of management at Clemson University. He received his Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University and his MBA and Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Fredendall has received many accolades and awards, including the Mary Beth Pearson Gnagey Award for Best Contribution to Theory. He is also an accomplished writer and presenter. He focuses his research in lean operation management, quality management and health systems. Fredendall will begin his three-year editorship on Jan. 1, 2013.

Quality Management Journal, founded in 1993, is a forum for new research and discussions on operations management. It is the first journal to link practitioners of quality management and academic researchers.

The American Society for Quality is a global community of organizations and individuals from 150 countries dedicated to transforming the world’s organizations.
