FLORENCE — Clemson Extension and the S.C. Cotton Board will host the S.C. Cotton Growers Annual Meeting Jan. 29 in Orangeburg. 

Registration is from 8:15 to 9 a.m. in the Cinema Rooms, 1175 Orangeburg Mall Circle. The meeting is scheduled to adjourn at 3:30 p.m.

The program includes a report from the Southern Cotton Growers Association, and presentations on bale contamination, weed-control options and new cotton varieties, among other topics.

Gary Adams, vice president for economics and policy analysis for the National Cotton Council of America in Cordova, Tenn., will give a 2013 industry outlook; Jim Brumley, executive director of the Southeastern Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation in Montgomery, Ala., will report on the boll weevil eradication program; and Jeremy Greene, research entomologist at the Clemson University Edisto Research and Education Center in Blackville, will give an insect management update.
