Get a taste of different cultures at Clemson’s International Festival

Published: March 28, 2013

CLEMSON — Take a trip around the world without leaving Clemson University at the annual International Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7, on Bowman Field.

Clemson’s international student population will serve up food samples from their native countries, and there will be live entertainment, including singing, dancing and a fashion show. Other special activities, including henna tattooing, will be included, and children can enjoy games and face painting in the special KidZone tent. Several Upstate venders will have international crafts for sale.

Admission to the festival is free, and food tickets are $1 each.

The festival has become a tradition at Clemson and is one way that the university recognizes and celebrates its international students. This year, Clemson has more than 1,400 international students hailing from 81 different countries.

The festival also has volunteer opportunities for those interested in helping. Register online to volunteer.

The International Festival is sponsored by the Gantt Center for Student Life, part of the Division of Student Affairs.
