CLEMSON — Clemson University will celebrate undergraduate research at the eighth annual Focus on Creative Inquiry Poster Forum Tuesday, April 9, at the Hendrix Student Center.

“Creative Inquiry is making a lasting impression on our students and faculty,” said Barbara Speziale, director of Creative Inquiry. “Real research, real results, real commitment and understanding. Creative Inquiry is changing the way we learn at Clemson University.”

Creative Inquiry is a unique program that allows students to join team-based investigations led by faculty mentors. The range of topics students can choose from is endless and can be inspired by their own curiosity, a professor’s challenge or the pressing needs of the world around them. Through Creative Inquiry, Clemson students are learning to be thinkers, leaders and entrepreneurs.

More than 3,000 students participate in the program on more than 400 teams working on multi-semester research. These small group projects have resulted in 188 presentations at professional meetings, 95 publications in professional journals and three patent applications.

Along with posters depicting some of the Creative Inquiry teams’ projects, there will be interactive demonstrations during Tuesday’s event:

  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — Sustainable foods
  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — Bioengineering demonstrations
  • 10 a.m.-noon — Social media listening lab
  • 10 a.m.-noon — Box turtle road safety
  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — Explant retrieval
