CLEMSON — Welcome spring with the cool and smooth sounds of the Clemson University Jazz Ensemble at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.
Presenting an eclectic mix of jazz music, the program shifts from such jazz standards as “Up Jumped Spring” by Freddie Hubbard to famous non-jazz tunes like “My Favorite Things” from "The Sound of Music" arranged for the big band.
The evening also features four original big band charts with titles including “Too Much of a Good Thing” and “The Point of No Return.”
The Jazz Ensemble will welcome a guest vocalist to sing a Mexican piece by Pablo Ruiz titled “Quien Sera,” known more popularly in this country as “Sway.”
Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and are available for purchase online at www.clemson.edu/Brooks and through the box office at 864-656-7787 from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
