Saturday (March 30)

“Green” your yard at the Green and Blue Yard Event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SC Botanical Garden. Compost bins and rain barrels will be for sale, and people can exchange gas-powered lawn mowers for discounts on electric mowers. Tuesday (April 2)

The Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership will host A Celebration of Clemson Alumni Entrepreneurs at 5 p.m. at the Madren Conference Center. Three successful Clemson alumni entrepreneurs. Stan Clifford, president of DecoArt, and Tom Merrit and Mike Pereyo, co-founders and co-CEOs of Oobe, will share their advice and insight. Wednesday (April 3)

The Sixth Annual Clemson Literary Festival will begin with a College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities Showcase from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Outdoor Theater. Clemson native and Clemson University alumnus Dr. James Sutherland will present an oral memoir, "Vignettes in the Life of a Clemson Boy: Pumpkintown to Paris and Mentors In-Between," at 7 p.m. in the Self Auditorium at the Strom Thurmond Institute. Thursday (April 4)

Students will celebrate Founder’s Day at Fort Hill, the historic home of university founder Thomas Green Clemson, from 2 to 4 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to write thank-you notes to people who inspired them to come to Clemson, and they will enjoy lawn games, music and refreshments. Clemson Literary Festival:

  • Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jennifer Egan will be the featured author for the sixth annual Literary Festival. Egan will give a reading at 8 p.m. at the Alumni Center. Egan is the author of “A Visit From the Goon Squad,” which won both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award in 2011. She also is the author of “The Keep,” “Look at Me,” “The Invisible Circus” and “Emerald City.” Her stories have been published in such magazines as The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine and GQ, and her nonfiction is published frequently in The New York Times Magazine.   • The festival will host readings by award-winning student writers at 2 p.m. in McKissick Theatre of the Hendrix Student Center. Students who received the Undergraduate Student Awards for Creative Writing will read their work. For details, contact Jillian Weise (864-656-3151, jweise@clemson.edu).

Friday (April 5)

Clemson students want to share their love of writing with Upstate high-schoolers in a Young Writers’ Workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hendrix Student Center. Part of the Clemson Literary Festival, the Young Writers' Workshop is event designed to encourage Upstate high school students’ interests in creative writing. Students will learn poetry and prose techniques from nationally acclaimed poets and fiction writers. For details, contact Jillian Weise (864-656-3151, jweise@clemson.edu).

PHOTO OP: Clemson students will pitch in to help clean up campus during Clemson Sweep from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will register at the Class of 1960 North Green and will go from there to work on clean-up and beautification projects around campus. Clemson Literary Festival:

  • English professors will give readings of their own work as part of the Literary Festival from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Class of 1941 Studio in Daniel Hall. The First Friday Leadership Series presents Julie Seitz, director of Workplace 2020 for The Coca-Cola Company, speaking at 5 p.m. at Clemson at the Falls in downtown Greenville. Saturday (April 6)

Clemson students will volunteer to help the community during the Unity Project from noon to 2 p.m. Part of the Clemson National Week of Service, students will volunteer at various nonprofit agencies, such as cleaning up at local parks, washing Clemson Area Transit buses and helping with projects at YMCA Day Camp. Sunday (April 7)

Take a trip around the world on Bowman Field at the International Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Clemson’s international students will prepare food rom their native countries, and there will be music, dancing and a fashion show on stage.
