Clean up Clemson on Solid Green Day
CLEMSON — Homecoming week is an exciting time at Clemson University. Lots of fans flock to campus for the game, Bowman Field is decorated with colorful displays, and this year, even ESPN is paying a visit. Unfortunately, after all the festivities are over, a lot of trash may be left behind.
This year, students, faculty, staff and community residents can come together to combat litter on Solid Green Day, Wednesday, Oct. 25. People wishing to participate can sign up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mell Hall and get litter pick-up supplies and a free T-shirt. People are also encouraged to wear green for the day to show their support.
Student Government is partnering with the Solid Green: Keep Clemson Clean committee in the effort.
“Student Government is very excited to be working with the Solid Green campaign. As students, it is just as much our responsibility as anyone else’s to help maintain Clemson’s beauty,” said Tyler Gailey, student services director for student government and a junior political science major from Williamston. “The easiest way for this to happen is for us to take personal responsibility and pride in keeping Clemson a litter-free campus.”
In case of rain, Solid Green Day will be postponed to the next clear day.
