Clemson graduate student selected by NASPA
CLEMSON – Amy Askren, a graduate student in Clemson University’s student affairs program, has been chosen by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) to serve as an ambassador to The Placement Exchange.
Askren began classes at Clemson this fall but began working at the end of July for the department of housing and residence life. She is working toward a master's in counselor education with a concentration in student affairs. She is a native of Clayton, N.C.
“I am excited and honored to be representing Clemson University within a national organization. Since The Placement Exchange program will be implemented for the first time this spring, I am thrilled to be helping acclimate the faculty, staff and students with the happenings of this conference,” said Askren.
NASPA selected 16 ambassadors from across the country to participate in this program and to attend the international conference in Boston in March 2008. The ambassadors will primarily serve as the main communication intermediaries between The Placement Exchange committee and campuses.
The Placement Exchange is a career-placement partnership between The Association of College & University Housing Officers - International, the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) and NASPA.
