Clemson career center receives support from 19 corporate partners
CLEMSON – Nineteen companies have given support to Clemson University’s Michelin Career Center by joining the center’s Corporate Partner Program.
Companies can give at various levels and in return get the first opportunities for special services from the career center in recruiting Clemson students, including ad placement in career center publications, prominent locations at career fairs, preferred on-campus recruiting dates and waived registration fees at career fairs.
“These employers tell us all the time that Clemson students are top-notch and they want more of them,” said Flora Riley, executive director of career services. “Their support allows us to better serve them as recruiters as well as our students.”
The only company at the Executive Level, which requires a five-year pledge of $100,000, is Sherwin-Williams Co.
“The Sherwin Williams Company is proud to have partnered with the Clemson Career Center,” said Jay Davisson, president and general manager of Sherwin-Williams’ Southeastern division. “There are many advantages to becoming an Executive-Level sponsor.
"We receive full-page ads in the career center student guide and special recognition at career center events, which provides high visibility on campus to attract the highest quality candidates," he said. "The career center has been instrumental in making connections with key faculty members to target specific student groups and organizations. Of particular interest has been the personalized approach to reviewing our recruiting practices on campus and developing a customized strategy to increase our recruiting effectiveness. We look forward to our continued relationship with such a distinguished campus.”
The Platinum Tiger Partner level requires a five-year pledge of $50,000. Michelin North America Inc. and Synnex Corp. are both Platinum Tiger Partners.
Companies at the Gold Tiger Partner level pledge $25,000 over five years. Those companies are Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Fluor Corp., Guardian Building Products, Harris Corp., Itron, Milliken and Co. and Timken Co.
Silver Tiger Partners pledge $15,000 over five years. HKA Enterprises Inc., Northrop Grumman, Pizzagalli Construction Co. and General Electric all gave at the silver level.
At the Bronze Tiger Partner level, companies make $10,000 pledges over five years. Those companies are CMC Steel, Commercial Metals Co. of S.C.; Crown Automotive, Target Corp.; Tindall Corp. and The Vanguard Group.
