Botanical Garden gift shop holding holiday extravaganza
CLEMSON – South Carolina Botanical Garden gift shop is holding its annual holiday gift shop extravaganza Dec. 1 and 15.
“We have simply the best selection of quality gifts and educational toys available anywhere,” said Christine Drais, public relations director for the garden.
Choose from handcrafted jewelry and unique gift items by local artisans. Gardening books, educational toys, figurines, local honey, garden and museum logo items and more.
Gift shop artists will be making custom jewelry while visitors have a hot cup of cider and cookies. Special orders are welcome.
There are special 10 percent savings and Friends of the Garden and Museum get an extra 15 percent off.
The gift shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday through the holidays.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 8 there will be a jewelry-making party at the Botanical Garden Carriage House. The cost is $25, which includes materials. Participants will learn how to make their own jewelry and take home a piece of wearable art to keep or give as a gift. There will be hundreds of colorful gemstone beads and embellishments to choose from.
The South Carolina Botanical Garden is located on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of U.S. 76 and Perimeter Road. It encompasses 295 acres of gardens, streams and woodlands, and is open year-round from sunrise to sunset, free of charge. Support the Garden, become a Friend of the Garden.
