Clemson trustees approve land lease for Advanced Materials Center property
CLEMSON — In a teleconference meeting today, Clemson University's board of trustees approved a land-lease agreement between the university and the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA).
The university will lease approximately one acre of property in the Advanced Materials Center, formerly the Clemson Research Park, to SCRA. The Advanced Materials Center is located in Anderson County on S.C. 187.
The site will be used by SCRA to construct a limited-access facility permitting classified research and development activities. Under the terms of the lease, SCRA will pay Clemson $1 annually for a 50-year lease of the property, with three optional 10-year renewable terms.
