Clean up Clemson on Solid Green Day
CLEMSON – The Clemson community will come together to clean up campus for the second Solid Green Day Wednesday, Oct. 24.
People interested in helping pick up litter on campus can come to the registration table in front of Mell Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to be assigned a location to clean and to get litter pick-up equipment, such as gloves, bags and picker-sticks. All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt.![]()
“We chose Solid Green Day to be the week after Homecoming to help pick up the litter that is left behind from the weekend’s festivities,” said Solid Green chairwoman Cheryl DeSellier, a graphic designer for the university.
“Clemson’s landscape services staff does an outstanding job keeping the campus clean and beautiful, but we like to give them some help this week because football season can bring so much more litter to campus,” she said.
Solid Green started last year as an anti-litter initiative on campus. It has since grown to embrace other environmental efforts, such as recycling and energy conservation. To learn more, visit http://www.clemson.edu/solidgreen.
