Clemson extension offers 4-H2O camp this summer

PICKENS — Clemson extension is offering a 4-H2O camp for ages 8 to 12, June 16-18 and July 22-24. The cost is $25, which includes a certificate of completion, T-shirt, program supplies, daily morning snack and a hot dog lunch on the last day.

In June, the camp will be held on land and on pontoon boats at Mile Creek County Park near Six Mile. The July camp will be held around Easley streams.

Participants will get the chance to learn about enhancing and preserving the intricacies of the aquatic ecosystem, basic techniques of fishing, bait-crafting and orienteering.

“By integrating classroom teaching methods with hands-on activities, the 4-H20 Day Camp has successfully educated numerous youths,” said Marguerite Porter, Clemson extension 4-H agent in Pickens County. “We believe this program will ultimately benefit the entire community by enhancing environmental awareness.”

For registration information, contact Porter at (864) 878-1394 or marguer@clemson.edu. Registration is limited to the first 15 paid participants per camp.
