Five Clemson alumni receive Distinguished Service Award
CLEMSON – The Clemson Alumni Association presented five alumni the Distinguished Service Award, the university’s highest alumni honor.
The association annually recognizes five alumni who demonstrate a dedication to enhancing the value of the university for future generations; service to church, community, profession and public service; and personal accomplishments that serve as a model for present and future Clemson students.
This year’s award recipients are:
Glenn Hilliard of Atlanta, Class of 1965, is a businessman and respected leader in a dozen arts, environmental and education organizations around the country. He led the Clemson University Foundation through a significant period of growth. (Click here for biography).
Kathy Hayes Hunter of Lexington, Class of 1980, is a wellness professional with the Lexington Medical Center who also is concerned with the “wellness” of Clemson University and her community. (Click here for biography).
Roy Jeffcoat of Anderson, Class of 1955, is an entrepreneur and Clemson supporter with a big heart for helping children. (Click here for biography).
Danny Rhodes of Seneca, Class of 1968, is associate dean at Anderson University and a leader in the effort to honor Clemson’s military heroes. (Click here for biography).
Randy Smith of Augusta, Ga., Class of 1966, is a doctor who has traveled the world to help others as well as being a leader for his own hometown medical system. (Click here for biography).
