Clemson recognized for excellence in financial reporting
CLEMSON — Clemson University has received the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting for its annual financial report, a distinction Clemson has earned every year since 1992.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the university.
Clemson’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the 2006-2007 fiscal year was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
"I am honored to accept this certificate, which reflects the efforts of many dedicated employees who participate in the preparation of Clemson’s financial reports,” said Comptroller Charles Tegen. “This is a well-respected tribute that affirms Clemson’s commitment to quality in financial reporting.”
The Government Financial Officers Association of the United States and Canada is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 16,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
