Clemson to host South Carolina Upper State High School Basketball Finals

CLEMSON –  Clemson University’s Littlejohn Coliseum will play host to the South Carolina Upper State High School Basketball Finals Feb. 22-23.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, with games starting at 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. This is the first time that Littlejohn has hosted the Upper State finals.

The 16 teams that will be competing will be decided the weekend of Feb. 15-16. Last year’s winners were AAAA Boys- Fort Mill, and AAAA Girls- Lower Richland.

“We are extremely excited to play host to the 2008 South Carolina Upper State finals. This is our inaugural year with the tournament and hope to make it a tradition at Littlejohn,” said Meredith Merritt, sports coordinator for Littlejohn Coliseum. “There will be two intense days of basketball … We hope everyone will come out and support the schools. Undoubtedly, this tournament will be a great success.”

Tickets are $8 in advance (contact participating high schools to purchase) and $10 at the door.
