Clemson student wins landscape architecture design competition

CLEMSON – The Landscape Architectural Registration Boards Foundation recently announced a Clemson University graduate is the winner of the eighth annual Wayne Grace Memorial Student Design Competition.

Evan Beier, a native of Pleasantville, N.Y., who graduated from Clemson with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture in 2007, received the award for his project titled “The Boston Wildlife Conservatory.”

The competition winner must show how the practice of landscape architecture affects the quality of life. The judges who chose Beier’s project said that it addressed a wide range of issues affecting public health, safety and welfare.

The Landscape Architectural Registration Boards Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization that promotes licensure for landscape architects.

Any student or team of students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate landscape architectural degree program may enter the competition.

Beier received a $1,000 cash prize for his project.
